I have a canon 70D and use APT. Its backyardros user interface caters to the amateur and seasoned astronomers alike. I have chosen to follow other route and don't build AVI file. Customer Service I have questions about my order or need to place an order.
Thankyou looks really good. I have used and like both technically, I have used Backyagdeos Nikon, but whatever. I used to use APT for multi camera control it is superb for that for ages I didnt install the latest versions with all the extra gizmos as I like a a cleaner interface with only the functions I needed Edited April 27, by Yoddha.

APT does plate solving and provides a button to 'sync' the mount to the solved position. Mark, many thanks to you and to all that are supporting and like APT!
And this plate solving sounds awesome. Then send it to yourself, or a friend, with a link to retrieve it at any time.
Easiest option would be to try them both out and make your own opinion. I have decided to go down thw BYE route. Backyard allows control of your DSLR camera and deep sky long exposure images all night long. I have them both. For the cost and power backyaredos APT you can't go wrong.
I agree with others on here that APT has more features and continues to be my main acquisition program.
Allows you to align to the target's center when your imaging the same target spread out across multiple nights. Makes aligning images easier and reduces lost image date when processing.
